WHO are Fingerchicks?
We are two childhood friends from Kirkkonummi. Our foray into hospitality was basically decided on a whim. Due to the recent years of COVID-induced insecurity, we decided it was time to take our life into our own hands. After a furious brainstorm of trying to decide what it is that we do best, it was settled; we would go on to try and conquer the fast food scene with our fine-tuned fried chicken recipe that has been honed to perfection. Our mission is to fill the gaping hole in the Finnish street food scene, where fried chicken is supposed to be.
After deciding on the menu we spent months traversing the Mississippi Delta region in the United States looking to crack the fried chicken codex. Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, Jackson... Every city became a chapter of its own in our venture to unveil the secrets of the chicken. Finally, a hazy night of Mardi Gras brought us to the doorsteps of a murky basement in New Orleans, where a voodoo doctor would send us on a cacti-infused journey into the underbelly of Louisiana. Eventually we broke on through the other side with a trophy unlike any other; the best fried chicken recipe there ever was.
With said recipe in hand we returned to Finland. First trial cookouts yielded positive results unlike we had ever received. People were dreaming of our chicken. People were getting aggressive when we would cut them off. We knew we were onto something...
This summer we are proud to present our very first iteration of our Fingerchicks restaurant. We're going around Southern Finland with our guerrilla kitchen pop-up restaurant.
